Jon Aerni was appointed to the Chief Financial Officer position in 2020. He oversees the organization’s financial operations, including actuarial, investment, and accounting activities. He also provides guidance to the Internal Audit function.

Aerni had served as Vice President & Chief Actuary since 2017, where he oversaw the organization’s actuarial activities, including product development, valuation and illustrations. Aerni currently serves on the Compensation Committee.

Aerni started his career with WoodmenLife in 2006 as an Associate Actuary. In 2010, he was named Director, Financial Analysis, a role he held until being named Chief Actuary. He became a WoodmenLife member in 2006, joining Chapter 16 in Omaha, NE.

Aerni previously worked for CIGNA Retirement, where he took part in their Actuarial Executive Development Program. He then worked for Prudential Financial before joining WoodmenLife.

He is a native of Columbus, NE, and is a graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Aerni attained fellowship in the Society of Actuaries in 2002 and is a member of the American Academy of Actuaries.

He is an elder with Bridge Church, and he serves on the board of Good Neighbor Ministries.

In his spare time, Aerni enjoys playing tennis and pickleball. He and his wife, Jennifer, are kept busy with their nine children.
