Volunteering & Awards
Our chapters are where it all begins. The chapter system gives each member a voice in the governing of the business, and the opportunity to develop leadership skills through officer positions and to improve their communities through service projects.
Members can participate in and help plan chapter projects. In addition to supporting our National Community Focus of fighting hunger and helping local organizations they feel passionate about, our members participate in four national volunteer programs:
- Flags Across America - A national observance of Flag Day
- In Honor And Remembrance - A day remembering Sept. 11, 2001, sponsored by WoodmenLife
- Make A Difference Day - A national day of service
The times may have changed, but WoodmenLife's dedication to strengthening communities remains as strong today as when we were founded in 1890.
WoodmenLife Heart & Heritage Awards®
Chapters present a variety of plaques, awards and pins to recognize and honor members, as well as individuals in their communities, who have demonstrated WoodmenLife's values and made a difference through their actions and example.
These prestigious awards honor men, women, youth, and organizations who directly impact their communities through:
- Preserving and promoting safety
- Academic excellence
WoodmenLife honors those who do the right thing because it's the right thing to do.
